Psychophysiology is the intimate relationship that exists between the brain and physical body.  I am a Professor of Applied Psychophysiology and teach at the College of Certified Psychophysiologists in Anaheim California.  I obtained a Ph.D. in Applied Psychophysiology in 2013 and am also a licensed Certified Psychophysiologist with the North American Board Of Certified Psychophysiologists.

Law Enforcement Trauma/Subculture

I spent 14 years of my life working in front line law enforcement between 1991-2005.  During this time I was exposed to a multitude of traumatic events including homicides, shootings, stabbings, riots and civil unrest in addition to hundreds of violent arrests and assaults on law enforcement officers.  I have first hand experience on how exposure to those types of events affect individuals who see them.  I am very acquainted to the private subculture that exists within law enforcement and the membership of individuals within them. I have been teaching trauma intervention for Police Departments for over 20 years and serve on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Critical Incident Stress Foundation (OCISF) and the Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation (GCISF).

Chaplaincy

I have been a Police Chaplain for over 20 years.  I obtained a Ph.D. in Chaplaincy in 2004 and wrote the published textbook "The Practical Guide To Police Chaplaincy" which is used by Police Departments throughout Canada and the United States.  I served as the Chief Of Chaplains for the California Practical Chaplain Association and the Canadian Practical Chaplain Association.  I taught Basic Law Enforcement Chaplaincy for State of California's  Peace Officer Standard & Training (POST) for over 3 years training and certifying 100's of Police Chaplains in California.

Sexologist

I was involved in sexological research for over 5 years  serving as a researcher in the area of male sexual dysfunction, sexual addiction and BDSM/Fetish related sexual behavior in men under one of the world's most accomplished Sexologists from 2009-2014.  I worked as a Clinical Manager for Sexologist/Sex Therapist Clinic from 2014-2019 which focused on pharmaceutical free treatment models for male sexual dysfunction.  In 2022 I became a Board Certified Sexologist with the American Board of Sexology.  I have written several papers, articles and books on the subject of Sex and Sexology specifically in the area of male sexual dysfunction and fetish related behavior including "Myths & Misconceptions Of Sexuality" and "Slaying The Dragon-A Guide To Dealing With Sexual Addiction".

My Work

I am not a Psychologist, Psychiatrist or Clinician.  I am a Educator and an Advocate for those who have been exposed to trauma and are suffering.  My journey has included bringing attention to the failed medicalization of mental health approach as well as the correlation of that approach with the pharmaceutical industry.  This is based on my academic learnings as well as my own lived experiences as having been diagnosed myself with P.T.S.D.-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Pointing out failings of current systems will not help those who are suffering, so my goal is to bring to the table scientific measurable applications of psychophysiological science to be utilized in the diagnosis, treatment and most importantly the prevention of trauma related injuries that have "the journey of healing" not the generation of revenue and business as their mandate.

Also bringing this to the attention of all stakeholders involved, and collectively coming to the table to discuss solutions is my mission in creating a synergy amongst Clinicians, Researchers, Academics and Peer Support to identify what works and what doesn't, and continue to look for new methods that will bring healing to those who are suffering.

Measuring and analyzing the efficacy of treatment models is crucial to determine if something is working or it is not, and the lack of biological, biochemical or radiological evidence in the treatment of traumatic based injuries I believe contributes to the low efficacy rates of some treatments as well as the continued high level of suicides within the Military & First Responder communities.

Many of these ideas threaten the business models of many organizations and providers and as a result, I have been a target of multiple attacks in the media, social media, and academia where they seek to silence me in an effort to continue their current business model.
